It’s Saturday and I’m up at 7:30 am. What’s wrong with me? I tried to go back to sleep, but there was too much on my mind.
As I got dressed there was still a chill in the air, so I went on a mission to find – wait for it – The Perfect Hoodie.
Okay, so it’s probably not the perfect hoodie, but I love it.
I’m a simple guy. I don’t need brand names. When it comes to clothes I look for comfort and functionality.
I’m definitely not a fan of clothing littered with a store’s name AND a non-exotic vacation destination on it. However, when I tried on this particular hoodie at one of the 37 Surf Style locations in Orange Beach, AL earlier this year, I had to have it.
“It is just so damn comfortable,” I thought.
I have a confession to make though. While I was in the store I Google’d information about the manufacturer in an attempt to find out where I could order one without the words SURF STYLE in huge block letters going down the arm and across the back.
Nothing against Surf Style. Or Orange Beach for that matter. I just prefer not to be a walking billboard.
My quick search turned up nada, so I decided to buy it. Not only that, I bought one for my wife as well.
I never buy clothes for my wife. Ever. It’s just not worth the time I would spend agonizing over the purchase, and the blow to my self-esteem when she returns it.
But the hoodie was different. Intuitively I knew she would love this warm cozy hoodie as much as I did. And she would end up stealing mine. Nope.. not gonna happen.
So I bought her a Surf Style Orange Beach hoodie with big blue letters.
It also happened to be our 13 year anniversary, which was perfect.
I figured I would get a laugh when I gave her the hoodie. Then she would shower me with love, praise, and affection when she wears it. Plus, she won’t steal mine. Win, win, win.
She did laugh and she did love it when she tried it on.
Quick side note: We just got back from another vacation where I brought my hoodie and she forgot hers. She did, in fact, steal mine on the car ride there and the rest of the trip.
So today I’m thankful for my perfect hoodie and the warm fuzzy coziness it provides.
